*Thad and Christian are not brothers from blood. They were born a few centuries apart, but they share the same maker and therefore, are considered to be brothers in the vampire community.
Born in 1052, Godwin was born to a man of consequence in Saxon England, campaigning right alongside Harold, the future King of England, who would ultimately be defeated in 1066 by William the Conqueror. When Harold was killed in the Battle of Hastings, fighting William, and the Normans took over, making William their King, Godwin, whose own father had fallen in the battle, was stripped of his land and his position.

While his Maker clearly saw it as an act for which she should be thanked, Godwin was horrified when he awoke to discover that he could not die. He did, nevertheless, take advantage of this situation as best as he could, breaking his chains and tormenting his former masters and even returning to the depths of England to pick off unsuspecting Normans by night. Over the years, Godwin grew to embrace what he had become and eventually came to see his once unsettling vampirism as a second chance. While he still railed against his inability to die with the Saxon England he had loved, he made the best of what he had, becoming a very feared and respected vampire.

After the fateful night of Anita's turning, Christian spirited his new progeny away to a more peaceful region, where she could complete her transition in peace. Nonetheless, as soon as she'd acclimated to her new lifestyle, it was a whirlwind of globe-trotting, as if the duo believed they could soak in as many cultures and places if they only saw enough of them. ~blegh

1052 - Christian is born in the North of England to a wealthy Saxon family, known at that time as Godwin
1066 - At age 14, Godwin participates in the Battle of Hastings. They conquer the Viking invasion only to be crushed by the Normans just behind.
1069-1070 - The Harrying of the North, Godwin and all his neighbors are brutally punished for their attempted revolt

2013 - Christian is contacted by his Maker and instructed to go to the small town of Ashwick Grove, CT, where he is to keep a watchful eye on the witches there, for reasons unknown to himself. He takes Anita with him and the two are settling there, having bought a substantial estate, both as known vampires.
